The theme for Safe Work Australia's National Safe Work Month this year is think safe. work safe. be safe.
Being healthy and safe means being free from physical and psychological harm and working in an environment which encourages best practice workplace health and safety.
Creating safer workplaces
We’ve been helping people recover from workplace injuries and get their lives back for over 110 years.
Since 2012, we have invested over $87 million to a variety of innovative projects delivered by EML or in collaboration with our customers, research partners or industry associations. During the 2020–21 financial year alone we committed over $16.3 million to support initiatives designed to prevent workplace accidents and improve workplace injury management practices through our Mutual Benefits Program.
Whether you are an injured worker or an employer looking to create a safer workplace for your people, you may just find the perfect resource, tool, training or article to help.
Take a look at some of what we can offer below and if you have any questions or queries please contact your EML Account Manager or a member of Mutual Benefits.

WHS Poster Library
Customers can download one of our new WHS Posters to help remind their workers to take care at work.
We have also provided co-branded templates, so they can make these posters their own.
Visit the WHS Poster Library to access our new range.
Preventing manual task injuries
Manual task injuries put tradies (and the people that work with them) out of work across Australia every day.
Join Occupational Therapist Brad Gerlach as he demonstrates safer manual handling concepts in three helpful videos available through our resources page.
First responder resources
We have several collections of resources to support first responders including:
We recently sponsored Beyond Duty a virtual event hosted by Fortem Australia which is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the mental fitness and wellbeing of first responder families. Presentations from this incredible event are now freely through Fortem's website.
More than a Cop is an online education program developed to support NSW Police (through Phoenix Australia – Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health) and forms part of our NSW Police Career Transition Program.
There are many opportunities to consider workplace safety this month. You may like to take advantage of the free webinars being run by WorkSafe Victoria on a range of topics including supporting mental injuries, practical tips for remote working and manual handling, or take part in SafeWork SA's Organise your own workplace activity competition and show your commitment to health and safety in your workplace.
