Last week, in collaboration with NSW Police and TAL, EML hosted a virtual seminar for injured officers and their families.
'We are proud to be able to support NSW Police Officers as they take on the challenge of beginning new careers after serving our communities,' Matt Rodwell, EML General Manager
Over 340 attendees took part on the day, which brought together NSW Police Officers (with their families and supporters) with subject matter experts including financial advisers, medical retirement managers from EML and TAL, representatives from the Deployment and Transition Workforce Safety Command and NSW Police Family Support Office.
The presentations and exhibitor resources will remain accessible online for another year.
Support continues after career transition
In his address to attendees, New South Wales Police Force Commissioner Mick Fuller APM said, ‘The New South Wales Police Force mental wellbeing strategy delivers support for officers and their families not only while they're in the workplace, but as they take steps towards the next phase of life. Whether your service was one day or 40 years, I am indebted to you for what you have done for the people of New South Wales. You may be leaving the police force but you are not on your own. You will always be part of the police family.’
Providing the right information when it’s needed most
'The feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive and the presentations and resources will be available to NSW Police Officers to access for over a year - providing support well beyond last week's event.’ Matt Rodwell, EML General Manager said.
"Thank you for this online seminar, it has answered so many of my concerns and has given me a more positive outlook on transition out of the police."
